Death, taxes, and…This is the part of the process where we have less control over the timeline, because the government is involved. That said, we do our best to help the process along where we can, and be the “squeaky wheel” in order to more quickly obtain a building permit than many builders. Our personalized service includes us staying on top of the permitting process so we can get to construction as soon as possible.
For lots requiring the existing home be torn-down (which is the case in the majority of cases), depending on your particular needs, we may or may not obtain a demolition permit prior to the building permit. If you are not living in the structure to be demolished, we generally get that demo permit first. If you’re living in the structure to be torn down, and you want to minimize your temporary living situation, we generally get the demolition permit after the building permit (where allowed) so you can wait until the last possible second before moving out. Every situation is unique, and our approach to each is catered to the needs of our clients.
