Building a custom modular home
Building your custom modular home takes 90 to 120 days from site preparation to move in. The average site-built home of similar quality can take 12 to 18 months to complete. We pride ourselves on delivering higher quality homes than most site-built competitors in a fraction of the time it takes them.
Inspectors check every part of your Dovetail home several times at the modular construction facility to make sure it meets building codes and our high quality standards. To prepare for transportation and placement, our modular homes are built more solidly than today's site-built homes. Dovetail USA custom homes are built to old-fashioned, exacting standards of quality using today's state-of-the-art technology.
Moving in
Once you start planning your Dovetail custom home, it's time to think about moving in. We work with you every step of the way so you and your neighbors know what to expect and when. It's just another way Dovetail keeps track of the details.
After you move in, we'll visit at 30 days and again after you've lived in your home 11 months. Because all homes change slightly as they settle into the site, we'll walk through with you and note any issues needing attention.
Manufacturing Process
Would you have your new car built in the driveway?
For nearly a decade, the homebuilding industry's premier professional organization, the National Association of Home Builders, has praised the modular homebuilding technology that allows your custom home to be built indoors, protected from the elements.
Inspections take place at the factory, with each section approved as it is built. We put it all together on-site, after which it is re-inspected by a local building inspector before we complete any finish work necessary. From factory to finish, your custom modular home undergoes more Quality Control (QC) inspections than site-built homes do, and with the added third-party inspections for ENERGY STAR
certification your Dovetail USA custom home also receives, you don't have to just take our word for it that your home is built to the highest standards: you'll know by the ENERGY STAR logo it bears.
